WINTER HOLIDAYS IN SÖLDEN

Winter in Sölden is in a league of its own. Obviously, there’s our iconic ski resort. But there’s plenty happening off the slopes as well. Get ready to check out some of these exciting winter sports.

SKIING & SNOWBOARDING

Here for the slopes? Makes total sense. Sölden is a true mecca for skiers and snowboarders. 144 kilometres of ski runs, two glacier ski areas, three rideable 3,000-metre peaks, over 30 modern lifts and just as many mountain huts and après spots. Not to mention the weekly night skiing event.

To help you navigate all those highlights and find your perfect line, your in-house hosts and guides Vreni and Roland bring in their team from Freeride Center Sölden. You can book them for private lessons or group sessions to learn skiing or snowboarding from scratch or to take your skills to the next level.

SKI TOURING & FREERIDING

Want to hike up the mountain on skis or head deep into untouched backcountry? Ski touring is your chance to connect with nature and test your endurance. To stay safe and get the most out of the experience, join up with our local ski touring guides from Freeride Center Sölden. They’ll level up your technique and show you the most jaw-dropping views and heart-pounding descents.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Can’t stand still? Then the cross-country track might just be your zone. Ötztal has several extensive tracks with guaranteed snow in Gurgl, Gries (above Längenfeld) and Niederthai. And if you’re after that perfect flow, our expert guides will help you find it.

TOBOGANNING

Hang on for the ride! Tobogganing is big in Sölden. The 7.3 km track from the Gaislachkogl mid-station down to the valley guarantees thrills and chills – not just for kids. Wednesday nights with floodlights.

Ice Skating

Want a change of pace? Hit the ice! The Sölden skating rink is just 200 metres from ViBES and comes complete with skate rentals and floodlights. So you can keep spinning well into the night.

Winter hiking

Winter hiking may sound a bit low-key, but depending on the route, it can be a real workout. The Sölden area has numerous well-marked winter hiking trails. Wander through snowy forests to cosy alpine huts and breathtaking viewpoints and discover the quieter, more peaceful side of town.
